1. Feels like shit. Mentally, various curses are hurled towards DRM, DOM, and RM. But there is also feeling of helplessness. If frustration goes at extreme level, there is this realization of truth that this is what it was and this is what it will be, in our country. Nothing is gonna change, ever. After all, sarkari hai!
I also travel along NWR as my native place and college lies there. Believe me, things in NCR and NWR are different. NCR gives aesthetic view of e-locos, that acceleration and speed. NWR lacks that. Plus, when trains are at their peak in NCR, NWR is not comparable.
2....
more... After getting over the cursing phase, a good book or door plating/window gazing with some music helps in successful distraction from frustration. A nap is also another alternative. And if internet is available, it becomes a compulsion to know the name of the train(s) for which my train has become a victim. Sometimes, tweets are sent to RailMinIndia, in frustration.
3. How can I know whether my train will be rescheduled if NTES does not show it? If it is a case in which link rake, which is supposed to arrive, and then depart as my train, is running late; and I am sure about any delay for maintenance but NTES is not updated, I prefer to not take any risk. Railways never announce any change in technical systems. The same Mahananda Express that used to take a decent 5-6 hour time(at least) for maintenance at Delhi some years back, now returns back within 2-2.5 hours of arrival of the delayed link rake!
In case NTES is updated, there are chances that for places like NDLS/DLI, delay time would further increase. In that case, NTES is checked at every 45/60 minutes, as the existing rescheduled time comes closer.
4. For big places like Delhi, during daytime and evening, it is a good idea to leave luggage at cloak room and go outside, explore some place, or watch some movie or meet any friend. For night, Coffee/Tea in interval of 45-60 minutes becomes essential. If I'm alone and without heavy luggage, roaming from one end of platform to another, changing seats from time to time, tracking down run of trains in CNB-GZB section using NTES are some activities that are undertaken. Things like reading something, or sitting too comfortably etc., which causes drowsiness are avoided.
