Please read the complete article. It says due to failure of TPWS, it is a temporary step. Safety should be paramount and that's what's the case here.

There have been recent instances of Gatiman running way over PSR at places on that stretch, so RB conducted a meeting with LPs, and I think this is the step they're taking until things are foolproof.

Mridul Ji, we don't see eye to eye on most of the posts. But here I agree with you. Ticket checking should be done with strictness. And rake standardization should be done with proper study of the route demands.

I actually supported your post about keeping Goa Express with more ACs, because that train has more demands of AC than SL.

Most of our main routes need a train with regular coach composition with ample non AC coaches. And a fully AC clone closely following the original train.

Of course feasibility should be taken care of, and fare chart should be rational. But I think most of the trains can have their clones fully filled, even if they're completely AC.

Oh damn! But for my clarity, would you please explain whom I should be crazy for? Aishik, or his brother in law, or his sister in law? Or perhaps the Korean girl, or DG of Sreerampur?

Or this naive lady from Bangladesh, who supposedly has traveled in different train routes on India. And only admin action? Come on, man, where's your FIR card? Stick to your standards at least.

The Coromandel incident should have been the last nail in the coffin. But even days after that his original ID was active. I still don't know why, especially when many of our resourceful members were given undue SW and left.

He still think he can fool people. Warns everyone that he'll lodge a FIR or acts innocent when called out. Even when his blogging style, even the style of writing usernames remain exactly the same.

It's just a matter of days that even Ms. Moyna will start sharing time tables on this forum. Not block at first notice, but Ms. Moyna will first threaten me with some harassment FIRs or something, then some drama and then block.

But to be honest, however deranged he is. His arguments and back stories are funny, I love seeing them.

Sir, I think there's only so much even monitors can do. He continuously creates new IDs, and he generally keeps low in the early days. It's only by chance that we can identify him in early days. His original ID is active now, and meanwhile, he has made a new ID. Gives him an advantage to continue his misadventures from the moment his original ID is taken down.

Later on, his blogs and the way he interacts with people is typical and you can easily point him out. It's not that he

only does anything mischievous himself. He usually promotes other people doing nonsense activities on the site. When asked what's the source, he just says IMO, my sources, AFAIK, these are his favorite keywords.

Latest example being, when the news of Purushottam being degraded to M/E was being circulated, he edited a timetable of 2004 and started spreading that time table would be slowed, etc, etc. I think it was you only, who caught his act and then he stopped.

IRI was a treasure trove of information, and a lot of the knowledge I have about railways is due to IRI. But now everything is colored in political hues. People can't take criticism, neither they have patience to listen to other's thoughts. If I say something I'd surely be labeled the supporter of one party or other. It's a state of dystopia.

And as Sachin and Rohit said, he used all his slack after his Coromandel stunt. But sadly he was given immunity, kept active until many days after the incident. After the outrage he was kicked out. But returned as DG Sreerampur and everyone forgot his deeds. What's worse is that the new members engage in his cheap stunts thinking he's a genuine guy.

Sadly, he is the face of what society is becoming. The difference being, he does that on a railway forum. Others are doing that in the real world.

Shaurya and Amit sir are still quite laid-back in putting forth their views. Utkarsh is fierce and speaks what needs to be said. He may have been blocked by a lot of people. Although even he left this forum, it seems.

While traveling in North East Express or Mahananda, I've seen migrants in 3A and 2A, obviously with valid tickets. And not as an outlier, they're present in good numbers.

But according to the Martin Luther Kings of IRI, well, they should be confined to GS and anyone traveling with a reserved ticket should be called a relative of Ambanis.

And you, please stop creating sensation by asking daily if trains are safe in Bihar. They're perfectly safe. No one's going to throw you off your seat.

Ticket-less passangers may enter, that's a universal issue in India, at least the northern part. But that's it. That doesn't hamper the safety. And that definitely don't makes a point to post a daily blog if blah-blah train is safe in Bihar.

Etawah Diaries. Sharing some snaps in and around Etawah Junction. Having spent almost 6 years of my life around this place, it really holds a special place in my heart.

Main station building on a rainy October night.

3. PF 1,2 illuminated in milky white hue with our Indian flag flying high in the background.

4. Unchahar Express ready to depart from the PF-2.

5. GWL-ETW Express standing at PF-5 with JHS WAP-4 after completing it's journey.

6. A wide angle view of the station towards NDLS side, captured from the then newly built second FOB.

7. PF-3,4 on a sunny summer day.

8. Kalka Mail standing on PF-1 waiting for overtake by some non-stopping train.

9. Station board of Saifai Railway Station. Had to crop this out from one of my photos with my friends.

10. A heavily late Kanpur Shatabdi standing on PF-2 ready to depart for NDLS.

Meter Gauge Chronicles. A journey in one of the last remaining mainline MG routes.

1. BRK-MLN MG Express being shunted on PF-1 of Bahraich. Meanwhile GD-BRK DEMU in background in background preparing for it's return journey.

2.
...
Machine, man and nature. Our train departing from the laidback settings of Manjhara Poorab.

3. Daily life and the daily commuters of the train. Most of the travellers boarded to reach their daily jobs in Risiya. Teachers, shopkeepers, nurses, policeman, peons, everyone on the train seemed to know each other.

4. A curious child looking out of the window. He kept asking his father about everything he saw. That's how I became a railfan, too.

5. Lines meeting and going deep into the Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuary.

6, 7. Traversing through the Dudhwa national park.

8. Approaching the mighty Ghaghra barrage. It was quite scary sitting on the gate and recording while the river churned below.

9. A semaphore signal and a railway employee returning after setting the signal to Stop.

10. That one's obvious. The little devil snatched my samosa and hid below the train.

11. Our pairing train going back to Bahraich, running back into the Katarniaghat sanctuary after emerging from Dudhwa.

12. A busy Nanpara Junction bustling with activity. Train halted here for almost an hour. You can go out and buy things to eat. Or you can buy bread-pakoras or samosas being freshly made on the PF. The huge old tree gives the feels of old times and may remind you of Malgudi Days.

13. The said bread-pakora. Along with the samosa it was quite delicious, although a bit oily to my liking.

14. A IZN YDM-4 stands tall at it's base, Mailani.

15. The MG yard of Mailani. You can spot a wide variety of YDM-4s, GS and Vistadome tourist coaches here. Along with a few freight vans and brake vans.

16. Located a few meters away from the station, beyond the yard is the loco maintenance shed of Mailani, most probably managed by IZN.

17. Mailani yard with all the MG coaches and locos with the coaching depot visible in the background.

18. Where MG meets electrified BG. BRK-MLN MG Express on PF-3 while my next connecting train MLN-GKP Express standing on PF-1.

I did this journey on 31/06/2022. And except LKO-GD, the entire LKO-MLN-LJN journey was on a station bought general ticket. The train was clean, washrooms were clean and were fully functional. Although same can't be said for the electrical elements.

I was also quite surprised that people boarding the train from the stations mid-jungle, too traveled with valid tickets. They were helpful and interacting with them, learning about their slow lives in remote areas was an experience in itself.

Kumud.

In the blind race of namesake development, it's traditions that are sacrificed. In the era of high-speed 65kmph Vande Bharats, how could MG survive.

Like this line, many others were lifeline of their regions. Then came BG concept, and now the routes are dominated by freights with passengers nowhere to be seen.

Probably, the Mailani-Nanpara section, because technically they can't convert it, as it passes through a wildlife sanctuary and a national park.

Or if they're only concerned with running tourist specials like other MG sections, they may even trim it short to end at Bichhia in Dudhwa, the current tourist special runs till there only.

Earlier, the Gonda-05371-05355-Mailani-15010-Lucknow used to be the most effective chain, with all the trains in sync and wait times less than half an hour.

Now, with the gauge conversion, it's quite hectic. You should either reach Gonda, take a UP Roadways or auto to Nanpara, and then continue further using the same chain.

Or,
...

reach Mailani by some early morning train, take the train to Nanpara, deboard there, take a UP roadways or auto to Bahraich. Take the evening DEMU to Gonda and carry on further.

Or, just take the Tourist special to Bichhia, do a round trip back to Mailani, and take the 15010 to LJN. But this won't take you through the whole route and will be full of unmannered 'tourists'.

Please keep in mind that the journey is slow, and after the initial excitement wears off, it gets boring after the jungle ends if you're traveling solo. There is no network in the national park areas. And except for Nanpara I couldn't find anything to eat.

No, they won't convert it. It'd be preserved as a heritage route from Mailani to Nanpara. There would probably be a new BG alignment bypassing both the wildlife sanctuaries, from Nanpara to Mailani.

Beautiful captures. I wish I, too, could have visited the place on a sunny day. But rains did add to the mystic feeling of the route, I'd admit.

If I recall the name correctly, the LC you've mentioned has experienced tiger sightings. The gangmen who boarded my coach from Dudhwa told that story with great pride. And I think Saurabh from trainwalebhaiya also sighted a tiger nearby.
