Rather closer to Chennai than Nellore, almost a suburb of Chennai. You can the see the grandeur of the Pulicat Lake once we cross Gummidipoondi, and Arambakkam to be precise. Of course, the nearest station would be Sullurpeta, only from where it can be accessed by road, which is probably a no-public zone. Haven't had an opportunity to take a look at that road. The southern side of Sriharikota island is closer to the tourist spot, where a new lighthouse was thrown open to public for bird watching, sea watching, and other activities. Like Chilka Lake, this lake is also inhabited by hoards of flamingos during the season. Pleasure boating has been stopped after a tragedy a couple of years ago.

SHAR is just 16 km away from Sullurupeta and the nearest Rail head is also the same.Once this is a village but now it is a big town, and being a constituency, there is Chengalamma Temple which is very famous located here. This town has a big market, where the farmers, business people from nearby villages come here for trading their goods. Apart from these, the SREE CITY SEZ in AP is near by to this town where TADA is a small village.
And last but not the least, The famous Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is just 10 km away from here. There is an upcoming FLAMINGO Festival held this month.

Did I ever say SHAR is in TN? No, I did not. I said Gummidipoondi is a suburb of Chennai, and SHAR "almost a suburb" which did not obviously mean it is. Of course, Sullurpetta is the nearest railhead, and I vouch for it, but for all practical purposes, it is Chennai. FYKI, Pulicat Lake is shared by both states. And, if I can add up one more thing to Siva-Ji's post, the Sree City is going to house the Alstom factory that is going to supply Chennai Metro's rolling stock.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
