Howrah Junction (HWH) is a super busy train station chillin' in Howrah, West Bengal, India. It's kinda the main entry to Kolkata and one of the craziest train spots in the country. With 23 platforms, it's got all sorts of stuff like waiting rooms, food stalls, and ATMs. There's even a lively market area right nearby. Tourism Dakshineswar Kali Temple: This dope Hindu temple is all about Goddess Kali, right by the Ganges. Kalighat Kali Temple: Another big deal for Goddess Kali, check out its amazing designs. Belur Math: The main spot for the Ramakrishna Mission, a well-known Hindu monk crew. Howrah Imambara: A fancy Shia mosque with cool carvings and sick architecture. St. Paul's Cathedral: An old Anglican church with pretty stained glass and a chill vibe. Victoria Memorial: A cool historic spot famous for Brit architecture, plus it's a museum for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Nakoda Masjid: A grand mosque with detailed carvings and stunning looks. Jorashanko Thakurbari: The crib of Rabindranath Tagore. His fam still hangs out there. There's a famous museum about him that's known worldwide, even got UNESCO's stamp of approval. Magic Academy House/Jaadugriha: Where the famous magicians PC Sircar & PC Sircar Jr. lived, and there's a magic museum dedicated to PC Sircar Sr. that you gotta see. Salt Lake Stadium: The biggest stadium in Asia, fitting 120,000 when it's full and usually around 85,000-90,000. If you're in Kolkata, don't miss the football match between Mohunbagan and East Bengal. Food Annapurna Restaurant: Known for its super tasty vegetarian thalis and snacks. Bhojanam: Serves up all kinds of South Indian grub, like dosas, idlis, and vadas. Govinda's: Hits you with traditional veggie food from the Hare Krishna crew. The Dhaba: Dishes out yummy north Indian food like dal makhani and paneer butter masala. Shudh: Has a bunch of pure vegetarian options, think chaat and parathas. Jan Aahaar: A go-to for both Veg & Non-Veg meals. They've got fish thali, mutton thali, chicken thali, and egg thali. For veg, their Veg thali, paneer thali, Veg Punjabi thali, and Veg South Indian thali are bomb. Food Court: They got all kinds of delicious veggie and non-veggie thalis and snacks. You gotta try the Veg Roll, Veg Cutlet, Fish Cutlet, Mutton Cutlet, Chicken Cutlet, Egg Rolls, Egg Chicken Roll, Paneer Roll, and all the Bengali treats. Ice cream with Nolen Gurer Rasgolla's also there. Note: There’s way more non-veg food and sweets at Howrah Station than veggie stuff.
