The station also boasts a 420-meter long low-level platform with a roof covering the length of a train coach. Essential amenities like toilets, drinking water facilities, and digital clocks are available. Recently, the station installed an automated public announcement system at a cost of ₹4 lakhs, using six loudspeakers placed on the platform. The system provides announcements in Tamil, English, and Hindi. To further enhance passenger experience, the platform is being elevated to the height of the train doors at a cost of ₹68 lakhs to facilitate convenient boarding and disembarking. The contract for this project has been awarded and is currently under review. Work is expected to commence shortly after the review is completed.
