Kumar (Helper, Mirzapur), Sunil Kumar, and a scrap dealer named Sitaram, were involved in the theft. The suspects were apprehended near Ojhla bridge and 34 meters of stolen cable along with tools used for the theft were recovered from them. A further 20 meters of cable was recovered from Sitaram's shop. The suspects, posing as railway employees, wore railway jackets and ID cards to conceal their identities while stealing the cables. They connected the cables in a specific manner to avoid immediate detection of the theft. The theft caused a loss of ₹20,000 to the railways. The three suspects and the scrap dealer were arrested and a case was registered.
