The Lucknow-Ayodhya rail line has been upgraded with double lines and electrification, reducing travel time by 30 to 45 minutes. The Lucknow division witnessed a 12% increase in passenger traffic in the last financial year, generating 2225 crore rupees in revenue, a 300 crore rupee increase from the previous year. The railway has also completed construction of ROBs/RUBs at eight level crossings as part of the 'Gati Shakti' initiative, commenced construction of bridges at level crossings on the Lucknow-Kanpur line for trains running at 160 km/h, planted 2.5 crore saplings, generated 20 lakh units of solar energy, and performed 836 surgeries at railway hospitals. The division is currently developing a 'Hundred Day Plan' for the current financial year, which includes demolishing a two-year-old foot over bridge at Charbagh station, creating a second entry at Charbagh, building two new platforms, and extending the length of platforms 2, 3, 4, and 5.
