The package will be fully funded by the Government of Odisha and Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL), and the tender documents explicitly state that this is not funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1, spanning from the Airport to Trishulia Square, is being constructed at a cost of Rs 6,255 crore. It will have 20 stations and a central depot near Trisulia Square. The project is expected to significantly improve connectivity in Bhubaneswar and will eventually connect Puri to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The project was announced on April 1, 2023 and will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Odisha on January 1, 2024.

Hospital, Bapuji Nagar, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Ram Mandir Square, Vani Vihar aur Acharya Vihar Square. Package ko puri tarah se Odisha Sarkar aur Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) fund karenge, aur tender documents mein saaf-saaf kaha gaya hai ki ye Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) se fund nahi kiya gaya hai. Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1, jo Airport se Trishulia Square tak jaati hai, Rs 6,255 crore ki lagat se banaya ja raha hai. Isme 20 stations honge aur Trisulia Square ke paas ek central depot hoga. Project se Bhubaneswar mein connectivity mein kaafi sudhaar hone ki ummeed hai aur aakhir mein ye Puri ko Cuttack aur Bhubaneswar se jod dega. Project ka announcement 1 April, 2023 ko kiya gaya tha aur iska inauguration Odisha ke Mukhyamantri 1 January, 2024 ko karenge.
