The station redevelopment was carried out , with increase in platform length . But even now , station can handle around 16 lhb coach rake and 18 ICF coach rake . It is a capacity enhancement, but not sufficient . With the station being a terminal ( bus depot , road , shops are there beyond the terminal side wall ) , further extension in opposite direction is difficult. In 2014-15 , when I used to live in Dehradun , there were talks of Harrawala being developed as a satellite station , with full length platforms ; and capacity enhancement at doiwala . Nothing concrete happened on ground . Instead, they found yog nagari rishikesh as an alternative, to run trains to full capacity ( 24 ICF / 22 lhb) .
