see the status as GNWL/Available, I would hesitate seeing this status and may not book it as all the passengers may not get a confirmed accomodation.

I feel this has to be rectified and the exact no of berths that are available at that particular moment of time should be mentioned. Being a programmer myself, I know this is a very minimal change and should be addressed by the application.

Comments and inputs are welcome. I will raise a complaint/suggestion on the portal for this change.

But according to the experiences of other members mentioned below, there might be multiple tickets available even when it is GNWL/Available. They have confirmed the case occurring multiple times and hence that seems right.

It might be a co-incidence in your case that only one ticket might have been available.

Not one berth but minimum of 1 berth.
See in a particular class of particular train the GN Quota seats got exhausted and status entered RAC/WL.
Now extra coach/es got added which absorbed all the RAC/WL got absorbed then the status will show as GNWL. This is one of the situation.
