Not now.. now the ore is almost finished.. they are very less and not sufficient and cost efficient for the Steel Major, not NOMD id the Head Mines for the TATAs and this route is now Triple electrified already. GUMI mines lease is over and handed over to Odisha Govt, there is no existence of TATA now, the J.N.Tata statue is also removed, Tata Steel Air Strip is now a playground. Hardly one or two goods train passes in a day now, comparatively much smaller companies are now using these mines. Many are using Dumpers and Road means for smaller quantities.

more... and BMPR extended to KDJR routes and the dead ends are removed, so that trains can pass the section, developing the section as well as providing alternate/shorter routes to many. Rairangpur is the only important town in this stretch presently.
GUMI Baripada connection will connect ROU-Baripada-Balasore via TATA instead of going via KGP area, Baripada being the District HQ of Mayurbhanj Dist. of Odisha.
