Why the Trip shed at Kharagpur is needed now as maximum no of passengers trains originating from Kharagpur is converted to MEMU now except 2 to 3 passengers trains which r conventional rakes.....2 Express train only originating from Kharagpur now. The Diesel loco shed is being converted to hold Electric locos.....it will be fully functional from this year....work going on...already few Electric locos transferred here again......
As i remember correct me if i am wrong...that Trip shed at Kharagpur was built to cater those trains like Neelanchal exp, BBS Rajdhani exp, etc which earlier used to have loco reversal here.....also before that this trip shed was used when KGP-BHC was not Electrified then all trains used to detach/ attach electric engine...
more... engine here at Kharagpur stn. Now both these activities are not done anymore...then why for just 4 to 5 trains this trip shed required at Kharagpur in future when Electric loco shed is started working slowly now and fully operational by this year?
I feel that Trip shed needs to be removed now from there after Electric loco shed gets fully operational ...
