2) Just because the station is near, doesn't mean that the train has to slow down. LPs just have to follow whatever speed restrictions are put there. 2 km is more than enough for a DEMU train to come to a halt
3) Stations like Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata have extensive yards and lots of points, and have speed restrictions because of that and in addition, these stations also have a lot of train movement because of which restricted speeds are observed. Trains don't slow down there just because there is a station ahead. There are "many" major stations where trains enter and leave at good speeds.

this case, the train was a good distance away from Amritsar yard, so there is no need to put up a speed restriction there.
4) Every curve does not have a speed restriction. By that logic, we can never have any train running at MPS for more than a few kilometers. Tracks are always constructed to minimize speed restrictions as much as possible.
There is absolutely no fault of the LP or the railways here. Railway tracks are not for standing around or conducting events. People do such risky acts everyday throughout the country. It just so happens that this time, the negligence and lax attitude resulted in a tragic incident.
This should be taken as an example to encourage people to stay away from railway tracks. The ones putting the blame on the railway are indirectly just encouraging people to continue doing whatever they are doing, because it will never be their fault, it will always be 'someone else's fault'.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
