Also, IR's tracks are somewhat friendly to the Talgo rolling stock. The kind of bogies used in the Talgo rakes ( articulated bogies or Jacob's bogies) are well suited for wider gauges like IR. For a given coach length, coaches with the Talgo style of bogies tend to have a higher center throw ( basically the center part of the coach describes a larger curve at turnings) than coaches with conventional bogie arrangement. Because of this, these bogies perform better on wider gauges like IR's broad gauge. While Talgo has countered this problem by going with shorter coaches, but the technology should be fine with longer rolling stock like our LHB coaches.
