My dad said that it was a box office flop because people use to relate trains with romance, and don't want to imagine as antagonist.
Maybe the movie was released in wrong era. It would have been a blockbuster hit, if similar concept movie releases now.
It was one of the most expensive movie of the time, with Hollywood stunt director used.
It was one

of the first movies that used special effects from Hollywood.just read the credits carefully and you will notice that.

Whatever it was... But for us ... It was great... The speed... The stunts ..
I was wondering why vinod khanna was waiting to break d coupling.. He could have blast d coupling as soon as possible and only took d loco on d inclined stretch.. And rest of the train on d main line... :P

There was explanation for that in one scene, because if they would have broke the coupling at that speed the train would derail and every passenger will die.
I wish they had konkan route at that time so that they would divert it there, and eventually fuel runs out and train stops.
Take another one
If the train had LHB coaches, they would have send the message

to the passengers by the help of all India radio to tie themselves to some object,so that they can derail it at any station safely.
But then again the movie won't be made with that story.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
