Alexa measures web traffic based on users having installed some toolbar/other Alexa software (which is actually adware), and volunteering to provide their surfing patterns to Alexa. So who would install this toolbar? I myself have never used it. If every single IRI user (or a representative sample) had installed Alexa's software, then maybe the data would be correct. It is best to completely ignore such rankings - they are not based in reality. As for where IRI stands with respect to other sites, we can never know for sure. Also, it does not matter.
