GZB WAP-5 is the High Speed WAP-5(Max Speed Potential of 200km/hr) of Indian Railways. It has a Modified Gear Ratio of 59:35:19 for giving Max Speed of 200km/hr.
But in case of all other GZB & BRC WAP-5s the Gear Ratio is 17:35:67 .

CLW has Surpassed the Production Target for 3-Phase Traction Motor 6FRA 6068 used in WAP-7 & WAG-9 Locomotives . The Actual Production is 988 against Target of 943 which means an excess of 45 TM's have been Produced as on 19.03.2016.

In a nutshell, now CLW & it's Ancillary Unit of Dankuni both are producing ONLY 3-Phase AC Electric Locomotives(i.e: WAP-5, WAP-7 & WAG-9) and Mr Tayal is very much Enthusiastic about the Fulfillment of Target of 3-Phasers in IR by these two Units of CLW in ensuing months & years.
Kudos to the GM of CLW and his Battalion for Outstanding Performance Shown so far regarding Electric Locomotive Production for Indian Railways.
