Rajdhani Express and the Silchar-Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express, via a longer route. The affected stretch was restored on June 17th, but trains were allowed to cross at a limited speed due to the need for the ballast to stabilize. Six trains were also cancelled, and the New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi Superfast Express was rescheduled. The Kanchanjunga Express, which was delayed by eight hours, arrived at its destination, Sealdah, in the early hours of June 18th. Passengers were provided with medical facilities, food, and water at various stations during their journey. The State's transport department provided buses and vehicles to passengers at Sealdah station to help them reach their homes. Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the central government for alleged negligence towards Railways and its failure to take action following the accident. The Kanchanjunga Express runs between Silchar in Assam and Sealdah in Kolkata.

The goods train departed Rangapani at 8:42 am and collided with the Kanchanjunga Express at 8:55 am. Initially, the Railway Board blamed the goods train driver, but the Indian Railway Loco Runningmen Organisation (IRLRO) disputed this claim, stating that the driver was authorized to pass red signals. The IRLRO emphasized that the blame lies with the railway administration, not the driver.

मास्टर ने एक लिखित अधिकार (टीए 912) जारी किया था जिससे चालक को लाल सिग्नल के बावजूद आगे बढ़ने की अनुमति थी। स्वचालित सिग्नलिंग सिस्टम सोमवार सुबह 5:50 से खराब था और स्टेशन मास्टर के टीए 912 जारी करने के निर्णय की जाँच की जा रही है। कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस रांगापानी स्टेशन से सुबह 8:27 बजे चली थी और रानीपटरा और चट्टार हट जंक्शन के बीच अज्ञात कारणों से रुक गई। मालगाड़ी सुबह 8:42 बजे रांगापानी से चली थी और 8:55 बजे कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस से टकरा गई। पहले रेलवे बोर्ड ने मालगाड़ी के चालक को दोषी ठहराया था, लेकिन इंडियन रेलवे लोको रनिंगमैन ऑर्गेनाइजेशन (आईआरएलआरओ) ने इस दावे का खंडन किया और कहा कि चालक को लाल सिग्नल पार करने की अनुमति थी। आईआरएलआरओ ने यह भी कहा कि दोष रेलवे प्रशासन पर है, चालक पर नहीं।

the Kanchanjunga Express was also given the same authority and had stopped at signal (AS-650) before the collision. The goods train was travelling at approximately 45 kmph at the time of the accident. The cause of the signal failure was attributed to lightning and thunderstorms. The incident is currently under investigation, with the Commissioner of Railway Safety conducting a detailed inquiry. The locopilot of the goods train violated speed restrictions, as he was required to travel at 15 kmph with caution, looking for obstructions. The incident is being investigated by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.

Is incident ki investigation Commissioner of Railway Safety kar rahe hain. Goods train ka locopilot speed restrictions ko violate kiya, kyunki use 15 kmph ki speed se, saawdhan rahte hue, kisi bhi obstruction ko dekhte hue chalna chahiye tha. Commissioner of Railway Safety is incident ki jaanch kar rahe hain.

वादा किया। उन्होंने न्यू जलपाईगुड़ी स्टेशन से डाउन कांचनजंघा एक्सप्रेस के गार्ड का काम संभाला था। उनके परिवार को दुर्घटना और उनकी मौत के बारे में उसी सुबह बाद में पता चला। इस घटना से सिलीगुड़ी में बहुत दुख हुआ है। यह दुर्घटना मालगाड़ी और कांचनजंघा एक्सप्रेस के रियर में टक्कर से हुई, जिसके कारण आशीष डे अपने केबिन में फंस गए। इस दुर्घटना में बहुत ज़्यादा हताहत हुए हैं, 8 से ज़्यादा मौतें और 60 से ज़्यादा घायल हैं। इस दुर्घटना ने 1999 में ऐसी ही दुखद घटना की याद दिला दी है।

Is incident se Siliguri mein bahut dukh hua hai. Ye accident freight train aur Kanchanjungha Express ke rear mein takkar se hua, jiske karan Ashis Dey apne cabin mein fas gaye. Is accident mein bahut zyada casualties hue hain, 8 se zyada deaths aur 60 se zyada injured hain. Is accident ne 1999 mein aise hi tragic incident ki yaad dila di hai.
