I agree that its a wastage of time but the loop areas also need trains. That's why its necessary to make some trains go via this route
NER loves this section and by doing this they effectively serve CPR-SV, ECR gets MFP-HJP and bypasses whole SPJ Div like DBG-SMI-RXL-NKE section.
