If ticket is in WL from SBC, book from MYA/Mandya,you can easily get ticket few days in advance also!
In ACC the cost diff is only 140 Rs.

Unfortunately, the sleeper compartment was extremely crowded, with many passengers with unconfirmed tickets or general-class tickets occupying seats that had been prebooked by others. This caused a significant inconvenience for those who had reserved their seats in advance.
However, what was more concerning was the behavior of the ticket collector. The collector seemed least bothered about the situation and was reportedly accepting bribes from passengers to allow them to travel in the sleeper...
