more... Bilimora stations is made up of four 40-meter full-span girders. Bridge construction is also underway on the Narmada, Tapti, Mahi, and Sabarmati rivers. The project includes 12 stations along the route, with eight in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra. All stations in Gujarat have completed foundation work, and superstructure construction is in an advanced stage. As of July 2nd, all civil contracts have been awarded, and 190 km of the viaduct and 321 km of pier work have been completed. The project has acquired the necessary land in Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Maharashtra. The first mountain tunnel near Zaroli village in Valsad has been completed, and work has started on the first 7-km undersea rail tunnel in the country. The government aims to launch the first phase of the bullet train between Surat and Bilimora by 2026. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on September 14, 2017. The 508-km route is expected to be covered in 3-3.5 hours, and the project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
