The Kavach system uses automatic train protection to prevent collisions by detecting proximity between trains and automatically applying brakes. It also features automatic whistling at level crossings and constant updates to railway authorities on train movements. The system's implementation costs are significant, with approximately Rs 70 lakh per locomotive and Rs 50 lakh per kilometer for trackside and station equipment.

Kavach system automatic train protection ka use karta hai, jisko trains ke beech proximity detect karne aur automatically brakes lagaane ke liye design kiya gaya hai. Isme level crossings par automatic whistling aur train movement ke baare mein railway authorities ko constant updates bhi shamil hain. System implement karne ka cost kaafi zyada hai, har locomotive par lagabhag Rs 70 lakh aur trackside aur station equipment ke liye har kilometer par Rs 50 lakh.
