Sushil Kumar, stated that the metro is committed to environmental protection and is utilizing green corridors, water conservation, and energy sources for this purpose. The metro covers 65,000 square meters of greenery and has installed solar plants in various locations, including the Transport Nagar Metro Depot, five metro stations, and RSS buildings. These plants generate around 4 million units of electricity annually. The metro purchases its electricity through an open access model from the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), with prices determined every 15 minutes for each 24-hour block.
