Nepal is also coordinating preparations for the train. This train will run at 110 km/h, except for a couple of sections. It will leave Ayodhya, pass through Gorakhpur and Paniahwa before reaching Janakpur. This train is expected to strengthen religious and cultural ties between India and Nepal and boost tourism. Currently, there is no direct train from any Indian city to Janakpur. The last Indian station is Jaynagar, from where Nepal Railways operates two pairs of passenger trains to Janakpur, with support from India. Currently, only one train, the 'Amrit Bharat', runs between Sitamarhi and Ayodhya, once a week. The new train will provide better connectivity for passengers to both Sitamarhi and Janakpur.
