The first train, the Humsafar Express, started operating from Godda in April 2021. Within three years, Godda station has become a prominent station in the Malda division, with 13 trains currently operating. The station serves over 40,000 passengers monthly, connecting Godda to important cities like Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata, and Gomtinagar.
