Southern Railway has received ₹12,173 crore for railway development projects in FY25, an 8% increase from FY24's ₹11,314 crore. The Minister of State for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighted the record allocation for Tamil Nadu and mentioned ongoing redevelopments of 77 stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 654 flyovers/underpasses, 116 Foot Over Bridges, 213 One Station One Product Stalls, and almost complete electrification of the rail network.
