Renu's husband, Rajesh Jha, reported that around 80,000 rupees worth of jewelry and cash were stolen. Renu called her husband after the incident, who informed the railway police after reaching Chandrapura. The GRP at Katras station brought Renu back to the station, where she received first aid. Rajesh then took her to Chaudhary Nursing Home in Katras for treatment of her fractured leg. Rajesh has not filed a formal complaint with the GRP, but has informed the RPF about the incident. The GRP station in-charge at Katrasgarh Railway Station confirmed receiving the injured woman on Sunday morning and providing her with first aid, but she did not file an FIR.
