Complain Regarding
A. Over Charging In Name Of “Personal Profit” By Catering Staff Admitted In Presence Of Manager Mr. Ashok Roy ; Cum Racial Treatment
B. Non Operational “Chain Pulling System” At Katwa Station In Spite Chain Pulled 3 Times - A Gross Safety Hazard . Gauhati – Kolkata Garib Rath “12518” Coach G/5 Berth 2 & 3 My Self & Sujit Bhaumik On Sunday At Katwa Station I.E. 24th July 2011 At Around 12.30 Noon.
Sir.,
1. Vide P.N.R. # 6457984871 ., My Self & My Mgr. Sujit Bhaumik Boarded Garib Rath On Saturday 23rd July In Coach G/5 ., Berth Nos. 2 & 3 Ex Gauhati For Kolkata (Koaa).
2. If Was Utter Surprise That Catering Staff Wearing Black Jackets Said To Be Employees Of M/S A.K.Ghosh & Comp. Gauhati The Catering Contractor ., Refused To Serve Vegetarian Meal I.E. Roti & Chapatti In Lunch And Compelled Us To Accept “Rice + Dal” ., Stating That Non Bengali Food I.E. Roti Or Chapatti We Buy From Vendors .
a) For Rice – Dal They Asked Rs. 40 Stating That Rate Is. Rs. 37 But They Need Their & Contractors Profot Margin ., Thus Will Charge Rs. 40 And Will Give Bill & Receipt For Rs. 35/- Which We And Adjoining Passengers Were Made To Accept In Compulsion Before Or Near Malda Station At Around 8 A.M. ( Sunday 24 July 2011).
b) Food Was Served After Crossing Azimgunj ., In Pre-Moulded Plastic (Tray) With Rice Near 100-125 Grms., Dal Hardly 70 Ml. ., Vegetable About 75 Grms Cooked ., No Water ., No Curd ., No Chapatti Etc.
c) We Complained About Quantity ., Then About Another Dal In Aluminium Premoulded Cup About 60-70 Ml Was Given But After Taking Rs. 120 For 3 Meals.
d) We Protested ., And Co-Passenger Saw Their Picking Up Lunch In Large Container ., Being Hand Filled In Pre-Moulded Tray (Stated To Have Been Bougt & Served Staring Sun 24th July) .
e) When Voice Got Raised By Many Adjoining Passengers ., The Staff Returned Rs. 120 To Us Of 3 Meals ., And By Then We Threatened For Chain Pulling & Even Approached Guard Of Train ., But “”Chain Did Not Work”” However T.T.E. Cud Be Approached In Bogey G/6 ., Who Summoned Manager Mr. Ashok Roy ., Who Came In “”G-5”” Around Katwa & Kalna And In His Presence The Staff Admitted & Stated :
I. We Charged Rs. 40/- From All ., Against Rate Rs. 35 ??
II. We Did Not Serve Water ., Curd Etc.,
III. We Allow And Insist Passengers Buy “”Non-Bengali Roti/Chapatti”” From Walking Vendors ., And Do Not Provide Roti/Chapatti In Veg/Non-Veg Meals “”
IV. On Being Scolded By Mgr. Mr Ashok Roy The Staff Returned Physically Rs. 5 To About 20 Passengers In Coach G-5 .
V. On Asking They Refused To Give Name As Did Not Wish To Wear Irctc Batch ., Which Was Being On Dress With Personels Wearing Red Checkered Dress ., Yes They Said They Did Not Over Charge.
VI. Water Bottle M.R.P Rs. 12 ““Silver….”” Was Cgarged At Rs. 13/- From Many Which Was Enquired & Checked By Mr Ashok Roy

3. Its More Heinous A Crime Then Gun-Holding Terrorist Please ., As Its Violation Of Rails I.R.C.T.C. Rate Contract Which Is Published On Railways Official Site & Available On Stations Please.
4. In Summer They Ask Rs. 14 – Rs. 15 For Water In Name Of Cooling I.E. For Brands Available On Stations With I.R.C.T.C. Vendors.
5. Non-Working Of Chain-Pulling Is A Virtual Safety Hazard ! ! !
6. Rates Of Rs. 5 Against Tea Rs. 4/- Or Asking Rs. 11 For Rs. 10/- Soup While Is Fashion Inspite Rs. 4 Printed For Tead On Cup But These Managers Too Have Cut Under This Crime Please .
7. Why Not I.R.C.T.C., Provide One Extra Page In E/Tkts About Rate Tariff For Foods & Catering Which Will Only Cost Passenger “” One Extra Page”” And Nothing To Railways ., Since Displayed Rate Are Torn / Mutilated By These Staffs Thus What Remedy For Passengers Against This Day Light Looting Please By These Contracted Staff ???
Sir., We Look For Need Base Against This And Above All Against The “”So Termed Racial Treatment”” In Name Of “”Bengali & Non-Bengali”” Meals Which Is Nothing But Intentional When Walking Venders I.E. Non-I.R.C.T.C. Vendors Sell “”Roti / Chapatti”” Thus This Looks That Over-Charging In Terms Of These Staff Is Nothing But An Organized Way Of Sharing The Looting Upto Higher-Ups ., Thus Where Passengers Need Complain ??? Its Shame-Full That In Indian Railways Which Runs And Operate Nation Vide Racial Treatment Is Way Of Compulsion For Passengers Beside Day-Light Loot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
