On time arrival at Jaipur
skipping Bassi at a flat 110 with a few streaks of lightning in the sky
braked very aggressively with a loud moaning sound and now ground to a complete halt in the middle of nowhere.. lots of lightning in the skies.. we are probably 3-4 kms away from Jhir
and as we say in the heartland.. khul gayi!
in other updates, its a completely silent coach.. with about 20 berths empty. Everyone is fast asleep. Despite boarding at this late hour, the attendant came promptly to provide bedding and water bottle.
picking up speed slowly in a slight drizzle.. pictures would have been nice
and braked again to an absolute crawl as the heavens open up. Rain is now audible inside the coach
Stopped at Banskho.. I wonder what is going on
crawling continues.. feels like I am in ADI NDLS Freight Rajdhani
Skipping Dausa at 110 on a tear. No other train or passenger on any platform. Just the solitary dog railfanning on PF1, looking very gloomy at the late running Rajdhani
skipped Bandikui quickly. A solitary empty DEMU rake witnessed us sliding through the wet tracks although the platform was full of people sleeping with no care in the world
skipping a completely drenched station
the train is rocking so hard i almost fell off my side lower berth.. those sleeping must be feeling a really nice rocking motion.. I am tempted to try the same :)
beginning to slow down gracefully, presumably for Alwar
no more grace.. multiple jerks as the train slows down and then speeds up and then slows down again.. Alwar can't make up its mind
Strolling along in no rush
Something must be wrong for the train to keep slowing down again and again like this.
Break of dawn as the rain stops completely. This is an amazing time of day just before the sun's rays start making their presence felt. My favourite time of day, which I usually snore through since I am a late riser :)
This train is on its morning walk, no hurry no rush no tension
The air conditioning kicks in as the train finally hits a higher speed
Skipping Rewari slowly. A couple of passengers who had packed up and were ready to get down on the assumption that they've reached Gurgaon are really disappointed.
Tea was served as we were entering Rewari.
What a name for a place !
Train hits top speed as we cross a Maersk double stack container freight train.
Skipped at MPS. It's blazing now. Maybe the LP needed tea to Rev him up
Crossing another freight as we skip Kareena Kapoor's sasural
The fun didn't last. Slowing down again
Adani logistics park at Patli
Yes :) how have you been sir!
Total fisaddi run. Stopping and slowing repeatedly
Fursatganj express has finally reached Gurgaon
PA announcement about reaching Delhi Cantt station
A very empty 22421 Salasar SF Xing at DEC. Almost 90% seats are vacant
Most unsightly visuals trackside in the morning from Palam onwards
NDLS LDH Shatabdi standing on the far side
IRI thinks I am here at VVKP but we are stopped at delhi sarai rohilla for some reason
This is a fake update on NTES. We did not reach DEE until 7.48
PA announcement inside train of reaching NDLS shortly
I can't say. I am guessing that Alwar is not big enough to be considered for a Rajdhani train's stop but I am not too familiar with the city and its demographics to know for sure.
See, this is why I was hesitant to respond. You used district population as a metric, others here used city population. You think a 'huge gathering' at the station qualifies, somebody else might think that this crowd size is not as big as the crowd at Jodhpur, for example. And none of us know the exact criteria IR uses for actually deciding a stop properly. In most instances, new stops for any existing train are usually announced due to political pressure more than any other logical reason anyway.
