We have come across many rail travellers having a query on which is the cheap and best option to come to Hazrat Nizamuddin(NZM) from New Delhi (NDLS) Railway Station. We have numerous blog entries and good ones. I am travelling on this route for last 15 years now and this is how i sum it up...
Option 1: Take a Auto, Negotiate hard. You can take from either side i.e paharganj of ajmeri gate side. My exp says negotiating on ajmeri gate side is far easier and you would have to shelf out Rs.100 to 120 and time taken would be 20 minutes... maximum up to 30 mins in peak traffic hours.
Option...
more... 2: Take Metro from New delhi to Pragati Maidan. You will have to take blue line from Rajiv chowk. Fare would be Rs.10. Just outside pragati maidan metro station you can take any bus towards badarpur border and get down @ nizamudin station chouraha.. a stop just after the shrine. Fare would be Rs.5. You will need to walk down 0.75 km or take a rickshaw which would charge you Rs.10 or 15. This looks to be a little complicated but all you need to spend is Rs.15 to Rs.30 depending you walk or take a rickshaw, so pretty reasonable and it would take around 40 mins.
Option 3: Take a metro from New Delhi to Indraprastha. You will have to change to blue line at Rajiv Chowk. Fare is Rs.12/- Just outside indraprastha metro station below the foot overbridge you will find autos on shared basis charging Rs. 20/- for nizamuddin. The auto will drop you towards the entry from PF-6 side. Again it would sound a bit complicated but Rs.32 and hardly 40 mins time.
Another direct option would be bus no. 181 from new delhi paharganj side staight to nizamuddin station fare wud be rs.15 for non ac abd rs 25 for ac bus- thanks zahaib sir for making me add this option :)
I was bit confused if to post it in Travel tips or not..so posting in general forum. If members suggest i would post under station travel tips.
Thank You
