to offer extensive testing facilities for rolling stock, allowing testing of trains manufactured globally under various conditions. The track features a straight main line, high-speed loops, acceleration test loops, and curve test loops, allowing for testing speeds up to 220 kmph. This facility also allows for testing of rolling stock stability, safety parameters, wheel-rail interaction forces, and accident vulnerability. The track has been built on an existing British-era railway line and has cost approximately ₹820 crore.
