The smugglers mainly produce counterfeit foreign liquor to sell in Bihar. Although local railway authorities are aware of the smuggling, they only seem to seize 10-20 bottles of alcohol occasionally. A large amount of illegal liquor is unloaded and sold discreetly. Smugglers were apprehended in JasiDih and Jha Jha by police, but passengers are expressing their anger at the lack of action taken by the police in Madhupur. People are only taking action when passengers complain. It is reported that illegal alcohol worth thousands of rupees is loaded on trains from Chittaranjan. The smugglers hide the alcohol in train toilets or under seats. Several social organizations have protested against the liquor smuggling and have threatened to file complaints with higher railway officials if the smuggling is not stopped. Agar train se illegal sharab tस्करी nahi roki gayi to iska sabhi jawabdehi rail administration ki hogi.
