Further, It is easier said than done. Shifting from CNB to GOY has been proposed since years, over a decade. lekin abhi tak nhi ho paaya.
It requires a lot of infra to shift trains @ GOY. infact, 2020 mei toh during interlocking @ GOY, new loop line, new longer pf1 and new longer pf3 got ready. tabse thoda toh improvement toh hua hai. earlier GOY was merely HALT.
abhi bhi, it doesnt have many basic facilities. staff bhi nhi hai itna wahaan. it manages running staff from GMC which is approximately 1km from GOY.
Location of GOY is not very well connected to all parts of Kanpur and only favourable to a few localities. It is not even under proposal to connect it with
#kanpurMetro, which is a BIG miss ! Ideally, UPMRC, NCR n other concerned authorities should have worked in coordination to achieve a bigger goal.
whereas location of CNB is very sharp and not only accessible to all parts of Kanpur but to neighouring towns as well. Metro Station work is in full swing and likely to be operational before General Elections 2024.
Also, CNB is to get revamp/makeover under Stations Redevelopment Plan. work likely to start next month. 4 new platforms r under proposal as well. but lets see.
Still, following trains have been diverted and halt @ GOY.

Last but not the least, Railways ka bhi samjh nhi aata hai, post covid they have removed halt @ GOY of 15205 LJN ⇌ JBP Chitrakut and 11123/24 GWL ⇌ BJU Mail which use to get good patronage @ GOY in both directions.
