HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED
Not so long ago, maybe a quarter of a century or less, Refreshment Stalls at all major railway stations offered a variety of rice preparations. On display were packets of Sambar Rice, Tamarind Rice, Lemon Rice and of course, the ubiquitous Curd Rice. But with the gradual efflux of time these items have undergone superannuation, only to be replaced by the new generation recipe going by the generic name of BIRIYANI.
What a hungry passenger now has is a kinda Hobson's choice of either Veg.Biriyani, Egg Biriyani, Chicken Biriyani...
more... or Mutton Biriyani. For an old timer like me who is not a fan of this newbie dish, there is not much to cheer about.
