* Daily ridership of airport express line of Delhi Metro jumped from 9000 to 50000 after the Min/Max fares were brought down from very high level of Rs 30/180 to just Rs. 10/60! So even after reducing the fare to just a third (i.e. 33%), the revenue collection has almost doubled.
* Similar treatment is required for Suvidha/Special fare trains which are a failure run at very low occupancies (some times below 20%). Making the fares reasonable and within paying capacity of common man can make such trains successful too! i.e. more people served almost 100% occupancy along with higher revenues for IR.
