This temple is famous for having all the three deities or the Trimoorty i.e Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara in the vicinity along with their consorts with seperate sannidhis along with another to Jai Hanuman. Legend says that Lord Brahma had 5 heads earlier and Lord Shiva had plucked one head out of anger owing to which he got the Brahma Dosha (Sin of hurting Lord Brahma) and the head stuck to his hand as a vessel. more... Sri Lakshmi who was performing penance here to fill up the vessel with enough prosperity so that it breaks under the weight. Goddess Lakshmi (who is present here as Poornavalli thayaar) does the same and the vessel breaks free and Lord shiva is free of the curse.
Regular buses available to this temple from Trichy Chatram bus stand on route 40, 60,27T etc alogn with other Gunaseelam bound buses. A small but beautiful temple.
